Today’s threats require the best protection money can buy. Protection dogs from German Shepherd Watchdogs provide exactly that. There is nothing that protect you better than a properly trained, powerful German Shepherd protection dog.
Executive Protection TrainingIn order to attract high-end consumers, many German Shepherd internet companies advertise that their dogs are “executive or elite protection dogs.” They claim that their dogs have been specially trained to distinguish between friend and foe, and to attack an assailant without hesitation. In other words, they claim the dog’s superior training allows him to see the gardener differently than a burglar. Unfortunately, these claims are wildly misleading and irresponsible. If a dog has actually been trained to bite a human (as opposed to a bite suit or sleeve) he is not a dog that we would recommend for a typical family. This kind of dog will see the whole world as a potential target. Without consistent professional maintenance training (about 20 hours per month), that type of dog is a legal liability. At the other end of the spectrum, many of the so-called “executive protection dogs” are soft animals who have been trained to perform for videos or customer demonstrations. To the novice, these dogs appear tough but, in reality, they have only been taught an obedience routine with the same decoy and in a practiced scenario. They are only comfortable in that setting. In a real life encounter with a perpetrator, though, this kind of dog is likely to turn tail and run.
Hand Selected German Shepherd Protection DogsOur approach is different. We sell confident, powerful, premier Schutzhund titled German Shepherds who are hand selected and tested for their natural protective nature. We don’t teach them to bite humans; however, our dogs won’t retreat from a real threat. At GSW, we love the animals that we place in our clients’ homes, and therefore, we won’t make unfounded claims which can lead to unhappy situations. You can count on our integrity in every aspect of the transaction.
